The Rovers and Rangers and Youth Red Cross Unit of our college organized a ‘First Aid Training Programme’ for YRC Volunteers on September 22, 2025, in the seminar hall at 1.30 p.m. Mr. Sacheth Suvarna, Member of the State First Aid Committee, Indian Red Cross Society ,Bangalore, was the resource person. The session began with an introduction to the ABC of First Aid (Airway, Breathing, Circulation). Practical demonstrations were given on CPR, with participants practicing chest compressions and rescue breaths. The trainer explained the types of injuries—including bleeding, fractures, burns, and shock—and provided hands-on demonstrations of their management. Special emphasis was placed on the correct treatment of burn injuries, where the importance of cooling the burn with clean water and avoiding harmful practices was stressed. Another vital segment covered snakebite first aid, focusing on keeping the victim calm, immobilizing the affected limb, avoiding harmful traditional methods, and seeking immediate medical help. The trainer incorporated video clips on first aid, providing visual insights into the techniques discussed.
To enhance understanding, students were divided into groups and received practical demonstrations on first aid. In total, 30 students actively participated in the program.
The programme was compered by Ms. Raajni, Secretary of YRC, and Ms. Sanvi G. Shetty delivered the vote of thanks.
