The English department was established in the year 1973, with two UGC teachers. Since then English has been offered as a second language. The language has been taught to the Arts, Commerce, Science, Computer Science and Management students with the objective of enriching their language in all the four skills namely speaking, reading, listening and writing. At present there are three full-time qualified Assistant Professors to handle 48 hrs of workload and a part-time lecturer to handle 12 hrs of workload. The department aims to:
- Develop the competency of the students to use the language
- Acquire the skills to face screening tests for Global employability.
