Seminar on “Climate Change: The Silent Fear of Tomorrow.”

November 27, 2025

The Department of Business Administration, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Canara College, Mangaluru, organized an informative and thought-provoking seminar on climate change on November 27, 2025. The session aimed at creating awareness among students about global environmental issues and motivating them to contribute actively towards fostering a sustainable future.

The seminar was delivered by Ms. Aisiri Aithal, a second-year BBA student and Deputy Director of Communications at Climate Cardinals, HQ in New York, who presented on the topic “Climate Change: The Silent Fear of Tomorrow.” She addressed the concept of climate anxiety and explained how rising environmental challenges are affecting the mental health and emotional stability of individuals, especially the youth. She highlighted that while climate change is widely discussed, strong emphasis and action on solutions are still lacking.

The speaker encouraged students to transform their concern into purposeful action rather than fear. She stressed the importance of initiative, collaboration, and community engagement by showcasing various national and global platforms such as Climate Cardinals, Tuesdays for Trash, Everything Starts Small, The Earth Prize Competition, and The Green Earth Guardians Global Foundation, inspiring students to participate in meaningful environmental initiatives. She concluded the session with the strong message: “Anxiety ends with hope, and hope begins with action.” The seminar witnessed active participation from 45 students. It successfully ignited discussions on environmental responsibility and empowered the audience to look beyond the problem and contribute toward practical, solution-oriented change.
