The Department of Zoology and Nature Club organized a “Hands-on Training on Media Based Aquaponic System – A Student-Led Knowledge Sharing Initiative” on March 18, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM in the Zoology Laboratory. As part of an experiential learning activity, a group of five students had creatively developed and presented a mini aquaponic model titled “Bottle to Biosystem” on March 3, 2026, demonstrating the principles of a sustainable aquaponic system using simple and eco-friendly materials.
During the session, the student presenters delivered a detailed demonstration of the model, explaining the integration of aquaculture and hydroponics, water circulation mechanisms, and nutrient recycling processes. They further provided hands-on training to the members of the Nature Club and B.Sc. students, enabling participants to actively engage with the system and gain a clear understanding of its practical applications.
A total of 27 students participated in the programme and benefited from the interactive and experiential learning session.
The programme encouraged active participation, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, and practical exposure to sustainable agricultural practices. The session proved to be highly informative, engaging, and skill-oriented, fostering greater awareness of innovative and environmentally sustainable farming techniques.
