The Department of Business Administration organized a workshop on “Silence the Inner Critic: Boosting Self-Esteem and Confidence” on November 14, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. in the Seminar Hall. The workshop commenced with a welcome address and introduction of the topic by Mrs. Laxmi Hegde, followed by an introduction of the resource person, Mrs. Shivani Baliga, Soft Skill Trainer & Counselor, Image Consultant, and Freelancer, Mangaluru.
The workshop focused on the concept of the inner critic—the internal voice that often generates negative thoughts, self-doubt, and fear of failure. Through interactive discussions, participants explored how this inner voice influences behavior, affects decision-making, and impacts overall well-being. Students were provided with worksheets to identify and reflect on their individual strengths and weaknesses.
During the session, participants learned strategies to recognize their strengths, set realistic goals, celebrate small achievements, and cultivate a growth mindset. By the conclusion of the workshop, students reported increased motivation and positivity, and felt equipped with practical tools to manage negative self-talk effectively. The session proved to be highly insightful, leaving participants with greater self-awareness, renewed confidence, and a deeper understanding of nurturing a positive inner voice.
The programme was graced by Mrs. Seema Prabhu S, Head of the Department of Business Administration, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Aisiri Aithal, a student of 2nd year BBA. The workshop was attended by a total of 58 students.
