Extension activity – Paper Bag Making at Chetana Child Development Centre

Chetana Child Development Centre has a wide range of products or services to cater to the varied requirements of its customers. The staff at this establishment are courteous and prompt in providing any assistance. As a part of involvement in community engagement and social work, Youth Red Cross unit of our college organized an extension activity of paper bag making, on December 29, 2022 and January 18, 2023 to join hands together with the differently abled children in preparing paper bags using newspaper and magazines. The revenue generated by selling these paper bags was used for the various activities of the school.

YRC volunteers participated in this activity and gained a diversified knowledge about the challenges faced by various children with disabilities and the way of handling their needs. Those children exhibited distinct creative abilities in extracurricular activities, which the volunteers greatly appreciated. Volunteers also expressed their feelings about the school and the children who were challenged. They expressed a desire to continue this event in small groups throughout the year. This activity was coordinated under the guidance and participation of Youth Red Cross Programme Officers Mrs. Smitha M. and Mrs. Roopashri K. P. On December 29, 2022 twenty one, and on January 18, 2023 . 21 children from Chetana development centre and 4 YRC volunteers participated and successfully prepared more than thousand paper bags. It contributed to national development, inculcated value system among students.
