“Orientation – An Insight into YRC” for YRC Volunteers

To brief about the Red Cross, its activities and the fundamental roles of being a volunteer, Youth Red Cross unit of our college organized “Orientation – An Insight into YRC” for YRC Volunteers on December 07, 2022 in the Seminar Hall.

Prof. Sacheth Suvarna, Chairman, District Youth Red Cross Committee, IRCS facilitated the orientation. He briefed the volunteers about the history of the Indian Red Cross Society and the seven fundamental principles of the Youth Red Cross movement. He gave an overview of the major activities carried out under the purview of the Youth Red Cross. He also mentioned the YRC claps and song, both of which could be used in our programs.

Glimpses of the humanitarian services provided by the Red Cross society throughout the world was presented to the volunteers through a video which motivated the students towards voluntary service and inculcated the sense of responsibility towards disaster management. 156 Volunteers participated and gained the overall knowledge of YRC and its responsibilities in a society.

Ms. Shreeraksha, YRC Volunteer was the Master of Ceremony for the program, and Mrs. Smitha M., YRC Program Officer welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Roopashri K. P., YRC Program Officer delivered the vote of thanks. It contributed to national development, inculcated value system among students and fostered quest for excellence.
