Blood donation camp

Healthcare facilities require a sufficient volume of blood to meet the needs of their patients suffering from cancer, bleeding disorders, chronic anemia and other genetic blood abnormalities; these conditions can be addressed with the aid of blood donations. It is critical to donate blood for those in need around the world since human blood can only be obtained from another human. On August 4, 2022 a blood donation camp was organized by the YRC and NSS units of our college in collaboration with the Lions and Leo Club of Kadri Hills, MJF, Mangaluru. The formal function was inaugurated by Shri Ln. Lokesh Shetty, Region Chairperson, region 10 (Lion international Dist. 3170), In his inaugural speech he stated that nothing can replace or recreate blood and encouraged the students to come in a large group to donate blood.

Guests of Honour for the programme was Dr. J.N. Bhat, Medical officer, Indian Red Cross Blood bank, Shri Praveen Kumar, District Coordinator, Indian Red Cross Society and Shri Ln. Praveen Shetty, PRO, Lions International Dist 3170. Formal function ended with the vote of thanks by Ln. Sumithra. V. Shetty, President, Lions & Leo club, Kadri Hills and the Master of ceremony of the programme was Mr. Parashuram , NSS volunteer.

Mrs. Dejamma A., HOD, Dept of Commerce & Management, YRC Programme officers Mrs. Smitha M. & Mrs. Roopashri K P and NSS Programme Officers Mrs. Seema Prabhu & Mrs. Vani U.S were also present for the event.Students from various class along with faculty members donated 104 units of blood and made this event a grand success.
