Talk on ‘Consumer Rights & Protection’

Youth Red Cross  of Canara College,Mangaluru conducted a session on Consumer Rights and Protection at the college  on Wednesday February 21, 2018. The resource person Dr.Rajashree S Kini, Assistant Professor, Department of PG Studies in Commerce, explained why every consumers need to know the rights and duties being a consumer and a customer. Students were educated about the consumer education and problems faced by the consumers when they are cheated by the shopkeepers in different ways. Students were  explained about the  Consumer Protection Law of UAE 24/2006, which  are rights of the consumers which are The Right to Safety, The Right of access to Information, The right to Choose, The Right to hear the opinion of the Consumer, The Right to a Clean Environment, The Right of Health Care, The Right of Compensation and The Right of Education.

25 students from Youth Red Cross participated in this session. Ms.Dhanya S Shet, Convener of Youth Red Cross Unit welcomed the resource person and Ms Divya compered the programme.
