Activity on preventive healthcare for YRC volunteers

August 23, 2017

Preventive healthcare (alternately preventive medicine or prophylaxis) consists of measures taken for disease prevention, as opposed to disease treatment. Just as healthencompasses a variety of physical and mental states, so do disease and disability, which are affected by environmental factorsgenetic predisposition, disease agents, and lifestyle choices. Health, disease, and disability are dynamic processes which begin before individuals realize they are affected. Disease prevention plays a major role in such cases.

To make preventive healthcare a priority to lead a wholesome life, Ms. Dhanya S Shet, the Programme Officer  of Youth Red Cross, Canara College Mangaluru on August 23, 2017, conducted an activity based programme to the volunteers of the association. Students actively participated and shared their views on preventive healthcare. 25 volunteers from Youth Red Cross participated and came out with some basic precautions which can be taken to have a healthy and happy life.
