The Youth Red Cross Unit of Canara College, Mangalore organized a programme on First Aid Training on August 16, 2017 at Canara College seminar hall. Mrs. Meena Malani, a well-known first aid instructor of Mangalore, was the Resource person for the programme.
Mrs.Meena Malani oriented the students with simple steps of providing the first aid. Students were made aware of maintaining their calm and assessing life threatening situations. She demonstrated and explained how to save a person in cases like snake bite, dog bite so that students could handle small causalities in a better way. She also gave a live demonstration on how to treat a person in case of hand and other body part fractures. She also exhibited the First Aid treatment which was given to a person in case of emergency. All the volunteers of Youth Red Cross actively participated in the workshop. 25 volunteers took the benefit of the programme.
Ms. Dhanya S Shet,Programme Officer Youth Red Cross, welcomed the resource person Mrs.MeenaMalani and Ms. Shifali Shetty, joint secretary, proposed the vote of thanks. Ms.Sourabha Rao compeered the programme.
