An industrial visit was organized by the Centre for Postgraduate Studies in Commerce for 33 students of I M.Com to Kalbavi Industries, Baikampady. The visit was coordinated by Mrs. Swathi Nayak, PG Coordinator, accompanied by faculty members Ms. Sneha Pai and Ms. Shwetha Pai. The staff and the owner of the industry provided detailed information on finance, HR practices, import and export procedures, exchange rate mechanisms, staff training, recruitment processes, and insurance facilities for employees.
Students were also given a comprehensive explanation of the seven-day cashew processing cycle, along with insights into quality standards maintained by the industry. The interactive session allowed students to connect classroom learning with practical applications. Towards the end of the visit, students engaged in a brief shopping experience of cashew products, adding a lighter dimension to the academic exposure.
