The Centre for Postgraduate Studies in Commerce organized a session titled Idea to Impact: A Practical Session on Research Paper Writing and Presentation on April 24, 2026, at 1:30 PM in Room No. 20, Canara College, Mangaluru. The session was conducted by Ms. Ankitha (II M.Com) and Ms. Srilaxmi R. Udupa (II M.Com), with the objective of equipping students with practical knowledge of research paper writing and presentation techniques.
Ms. Ankitha explained the essential steps in writing a research paper, including selecting a suitable title, framing the introduction, defining objectives, data collection methods, data analysis, interpretation, findings, suggestions, and conclusion. She emphasized the importance of collecting both primary and secondary data and converting raw data into meaningful interpretations. Ms. Srilaxmi guided students on preparing effective PowerPoint presentations for paper contests, focusing on slide structure, concise content, confidence, communication skills, time management, and audience engagement. Around 12 UG students of Canara College participated actively, making the session interactive and enriching.
