SOCIAL OUTREACH PROGRAMME AT CHETHANA CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE, MANGALURU

October 30, 2025

“If you can’t do great things, do small things with great love.”

Volunteerism reflects the spirit of contributing time and effort for the welfare of the community without expecting financial gain. It is one of the most selfless acts, demonstrating how small gestures can create a significant and positive impact.

With this service-focused vision, the Department of Business Administration, Canara College, organized an outreach programme on October 30, 2025, at Chethana Child Development Centre, Mangaluru. A group of 35 students actively took part in the initiative. They assisted the staff and children by preparing paper packets, which would later be sold to help generate income for the organization. They also donated stationery items and chocolates to the children.

In addition to these activities, the students conducted various fun-filled games for the children, creating a joyful, engaging, and interactive environment. This added element not only delighted the children but also helped the students develop greater empathy, communication skills, and emotional connection.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for students to interact closely with the special children of Chethana, enriching their learning experience and fostering a deeper sense of social responsibility. It enhanced their creativity, motivation, and sense of fulfillment. Mrs. Seema Prabhu S., Head of the Department of Business Administration, and Mrs. Laxmi Hedge, Faculty Member, also participated and supported this noble initiative.
