In commemoration of World Environment Day, the Can-Cabinet Student Welfare Council organized a one-day extension activity, a Sapling Plantation Drive, on June 13, 2024. The event was held in Adyar, behind Shetty Lunch Home. With the best wishes of Dr. Premalatha V., Principal of Canara College, and assistance from Student Welfare Mentors Mrs. Babitha S., Mrs. Smitha M., and Mr. Avinash, the journey to the plantation site commenced at 10:15 a.m. from the college.
Mr. Avinash, Student Welfare Mentor & Physical Director, and Mr. Karthik N., Assistant Physical Director escorted the students to the plantation site. They briefed the students on the significance of the activity and the proper techniques for planting saplings. Students enthusiastically planted saplings, ensuring each was adequately supported and watered. 30 Student Council Members participated in the drive, planting a total of 156 saplings of various fruit-bearing trees. Bus facility to travel to the plantation site and refreshment facility been provided by CHS Association.
