Canara College, in collaboration with ICT Academy, conducted a formal certificate distribution ceremony on December 24, 2025, for students who completed the Cyber Security certificate course under the IBM Skills Build program as part of IBM’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. The programme focused on acknowledging the achievements of 65 final-year BCA students who completed this advanced IT skills course. Sri D. Vikram Pai, Governing Body Member of CHSA, presided over the event and delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the importance of skill development over mere academic marks, encouraging students to focus on practical competencies that enhance their career prospects. Mr. D. Vishnu Prasad, Deputy General Manager of ICT Academy, highlighted the numerous opportunities available through the IBM portal and encouraged students to leverage these resources for their professional growth.
The certificate distribution ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including Dr. Premalatha V., Principal of Canara College, Mrs. Babitha, Head of the Department of Computer Science, Mrs. Swathi Nayak, ICT Coordinator, and Mrs. Seema Prabhu, former ICT Coordinator. Certificates were formally handed over to the management during the programme, recognizing the successful completion of the course by all 65 students. The event celebrated the collaborative efforts between the institution, ICT Academy, and IBM in providing industry-relevant training to students. The programme underscored the college’s commitment to preparing students for the evolving technological landscape and equipping them with essential cybersecurity skills required in today’s digital world, thereby contributing to their holistic development and readiness for professional challenges.
