In connection with promoting technical skill development among students, the Department of Computer Science & Applications organized a Technical Session on “Data Engineering and Analytics” on November 13, 2025, at Seminar Hall, Canara College, Mangalore, from 2:30 P.M. to 04:00 P.M. The session was conducted by Mr. Gautam Shet, Pre-sales Solution Architect at Niveus Solutions (Part of NTT DATA), Mangalore.
The programme was mastered by Ms. Sindhura Rao, who efficiently anchored the event. The welcome address and introduction of the resource person were delivered by Ms. Apeksha N, followed by the Presidential Address delivered by Mrs. Babitha S, Head of the Department of Computer Science & Applications. The session then continued with an insightful and interactive presentation by the resource person.
Mr. Gautam Shet provided useful information on fundamentals of Data Engineering and Analytics, data tools and technologies involved in it. He built awareness about real-world applications. Motivated students to explore career opportunities on Data Engineering and Analytics.
Students showed enthusiastic participation throughout the session, engaging actively with the resource person during the discussions. The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Mithul D Rai, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, the college management, and the faculty members for their support in organizing the event.
The event was convened by Mrs. Vaishnavi and Ms. Thejakshini, who coordinated the programme effectively and ensured its smooth execution. A total of 66 students from the BCA stream actively participated in the session, gaining valuable technical knowledge.
This initiative encouraged students to explore cloud technologies, bridging the gap between academic learning and industry-oriented skills.
