As part of the Special Campaign 5.0 for improving Swachhata, the NSS Units of our college organized a classroom cleaning programme under the “Swachh Canara – Proud Canara” initiative. All students were requested to participate in the cleaning activity of their respective classrooms on October 9 and 10, 2025, at 3:30 P.M. onwards, after regular classes. The announcement invited students to join hands in maintaining cleanliness, promoting responsibility, and upholding the pride of Canara College.
Under the guidance of their Academic Mentors, students took part enthusiastically in cleaning their classrooms, while the NSS Programme Officers assisted and supervised the campaign to ensure coordination, safety, and effective implementation.
The cleaning work involved sweeping and mopping the floors, dusting desks and benches, removing spider webs, wiping windows and boards, cleaning fans and clearing unwanted posters and litter. Students worked with unity and dedication, reflecting the true spirit of NSS — “Not Me, But You.”
The activity also served as a cleanliness awareness initiative, motivating students to maintain hygiene every day and to ensure classrooms remain litter-free, thus reinforcing a culture of shared responsibility and campus pride. A total of 416 students participated in the cleaning activity.
