Clean campus makes a good first impression on any visitor or guest. A regular campus cleaning schedule is imperative for creating a welcoming and hygienic environment for everyone. Moreover, maintaining a clean college environment sets a good example to students. It encourages learners to take pride in their college, which makes them less likely to drop litter and as such they will potentially make a bigger effort to maintain their environment.
A cleaning campaign and garden maintenance drive was organized by the National Service Scheme Units of Canara College on November 11, 2023 with the objective of cleaning the college campus and maintaining the botanical garden. All the litter was picked from the college campus, and the weeds growing in the garden were removed and the garden was maintained. The volunteers also collected the garbage from the parking lot and put it in the waste bin.
A group of 13 NSS Volunteers undertook the cleaning activity after the college hours under the supervision and guidance of the NSS Programme Officers Mrs. Seema Prabhu S. and Mrs. M. Keerthana Bhat.
