Industrial Visit

As a part of the outreach activity to provide insight regarding the internal working of chemical industries the Department of Chemistry organized an Industrial visit for III BSc students on June 03, 2023, to the Manipal and Kundapur Industrial area. 55 Final BSc (PCM & BZC) students along with five faculty members left the college at 7.30 am and visited the following industries and Planetarium Manipal.

1. LG Industries, Koteshwara, Kundapur: Registered in 2012, L. G. Industries has gained immense expertise in supplying and trading rigid PVC pipes, plastic water tanks etc. The supplier company is located in Koteshwara, Kundapur taluk and is one of the leading sellers of listed products. Our students were shown and explained about the manufacturing unit of pipes and its processing. 

It is a well-known brand name for the best quality and 100% best service. The quality has been well maintained for the past 30 years. The manufacturing method of PVC pipes and the polymers used in the preparation were explained to the students by their employees. More practical related aspects were learned by our students.

2. Rajaram Polymers, Koteshwara, Kundapur: Registered in 2010, Rajaram Industries has gained immense expertise in supplying and trading plastic water tanks. The supplier company is located in Koteshwara, Kundapur taluk and is one of the leading sellers of listed products.   

Our students were first explained the basics of polymers by the manager of Rajaram Industries. Students were shown the manufacturing unit of the water tank, the cooling process, raw materials for the manufacture of the water tank etc.

3. Dr. T.M.A Pai Planetarium, Manipal The planetarium dedicated to Dr. T.M.A. Pai (Founder, Indian doctor, educationist, banker and philanthropist) is located on the banks of the Manipal Lake near Manipal Junior College. It is currently managed by the Manipal Centre for Natural Sciences, Centre of Excellence, and Manipal Academy of Higher Education. Our students were fascinated by the night sky, stars, solar system and their origin. In the Planetarium, the availability of professional scientists working at the forefront of research in some of the most exciting areas in contemporary science adds an extra dimension that we hope will stimulate some of the brightest minds to become professional researchers.
