Seminar on ‘Secrets of Success for Self-Management’

January 29, 2018

It has been a perennial challenge for students to cope up with self-management and studies. To help students meet these challenges and enable them manage their self-better, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College organized two-day Seminar on “Secrets of Success for Self-Management” on January 29 and 30, 2018 in the College Seminar Hall. Sri Swami Sanandana Das, Sri Swami Ajay Kumar and Sri Swami Rohini Sutha of Iskon, Mangaluru were the Resource Persons.

The revered monks of Iskon through their sessions enlightened the young minds and said – “It only takes one person to change your life and it’s you.” Often, we dream big and have great aspirations. Unfortunately, our dream remains just that – dreams. And our aspirations easily collect dust in our attic. This is a sad turn of events in our life. Instead of experiencing exciting adventures in self-actualization, we get caught up in the unexciting of living from day-to-day just barely existing.Life could be so much better, if only we learn to aim higher.

The most common problem to setting goals is the word ‘impossible’. If everyone thought that, there would not have been any inventions, innovations, discovery or breakthroughs in human accomplishment. Hard work, discipline with realistic dreams are the key to one’s constant progress. One can accomplish anything they aspire in life provided they have a desired goal backed with commitment and conviction. Within you lies the power to accomplish anything you want.

Being happy is the key to all success. Therefore, as take away, Swamiji emphasize on the following :
1. Being grateful is great attitude.
2. Start your day with good thoughts in mind.
3. Develop spiritual connect with the Divine.
4. Manage your time wisely.
5. Stress less and laugh more to ease your mind.
6. Express your feelings, affections, friendship and passion to people.
7. Working hard bring tremendous personal satisfaction.
8. Learning is joyful exercise. So cultivate the habit of life-long learning.
9. Avoid exposure to negative elements or vibes.
10. Run, jog, walk and do other things that make your body feel comfort and healthy.

Principal Dr. K. V. Malini while addressing the students said – “To achieve success, you need to first believe in yourself and what you can do.Never give up so easily. Enjoy in whatever little things that you do. Remember that quitters never win and winners never quit. Always be prepared for anything and everything that is likely to face. You are unique and your actions add value to what you do. Therefore be the best version of you that you can.”

IQAC Coordinators Mrs. Shanthi Roche welcomed and introduced the Resource Persons and Dr. Premalatha V., proposed the vote of thanks. Student Bindiya Shet compered the formal programme.

The seminar enabled the students to develop insights on Secrets of Success (SoS) and Path of Perfection (PoP). It also guided the student graduates to be more productive and develop concentration to become effective. The session strived to achieve the core value of inculcating value system, and eliciting quest for excellence amongst the student participants.
