The Youth Red Cross Wing and National Service Scheme (NSS) of Canara College, in association with Indian Red Cross Society, Dakshina Kannada and Rotary Club of Mangalore organized a Blood donation camp on college premises on August 12, 2017.
Mr.Vasant Shenoy, Chief Guest of the programme, congratulated the College management, staff and the students to come forward to organize the event and said that blood donation is the ultimate charity one can give to the society.
Rotarian Mr.Gopinath, The Guest of honor,appreciated the initiative taken up by the students and also assured to extend support to similar activities in the institution in the days to come. Principal Dr. K.V Malini, praised the NSS and the Youth Red Cross efforts to organize an event of social benefit and she also assured to support for similar events. 44 units of blood were donated by the students and total 95 students participated in this blood donation camp.
