To make students recollect the achievements of the great Librarian Dr. S.R. Ranganathan who had spearheaded library development in India,Dr. S.R. Ranganathan’s day was celebrated on August 12,2015.
Mrs. Indira T was the chief guest of the event who lit the lamp and advised the students to cultivate the habit of reading and spoke about the advantages of it. Dr. K.V. Malini Principal of the college was the president of the event. Members of the library committee and other staff, 75 students were present for giving tribute to Dr. S.R. Ranganathan.
A discussion session was held between students and faculty on following points like: Dr. Ranganathan’s academic background, his contribution in the field of Library and Information Science in India, his early career as Mathematician etc. The students were motivated by this celebration
