The Department of Kannada, Canara College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, organized an educational visit to Akashavani (All India Radio), Mangaluru, on July 31, 2026, for the recording of programmes under the Yuva Vani section. Thirteen students of the Kannada Department actively participated in the recording of a variety of programmes, The programme was conducted under the guidance of Mrs. Vani U.S., Head of the Department of Kannada, and Mr. Pradeepa. B, Assistant Professor, Department of Kannada.
During the programme, the students presented a variety of literary and cultural items, including the skit “Aarogyave Bhagya” (Health is Wealth), a poem on environmental conservation (“Parisarada Alivu-Ulivu”), a Rangageethe, a Dasara Pada, and a speech highlighting the harmful effects of drug addiction. The performances reflected the students’ creativity, literary talent, social awareness, and communication skills while promoting Kannada language and culture. The activity also provided practical exposure to radio broadcasting and enhanced students’ confidence, teamwork, and stage presentation skills. The activity promoted the core values of Contribution to National Development, Inculcating Value System, and a Quest for Excellence amongst the participants.
