The Tulu Sangha of Canara College (Autonomous), in association with Mangalore University, Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Tulu Peeta, organized a guest talk on the topic “Daivaradane – Tulunad Da Avali Veerer” on 16 March,2026 at10:30 a.m in the Seminar Hall.
The programme began with a prayer rendered by Moksha (1st BCA C), followed by the welcome address and introduction of the guest by Mr.Prasad Anchan, Assistant, Mangalore University. The session was compered by Vaishnu (3rd BCA A).
Dr.Yashukumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Kannada, Mangalore University, was the resource person. He delivered an insightful talk on Tulu culture, Daiva worship, heroic traditions, folklore, and epic heroes of Tulunadu. He highlighted that Siri Parddana is one of the oldest recognized folk texts.
The programme was presided over by Prof. Dejamma A., HOD, Department of Commerce, who delivered the presidential address emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural heritage. Mrs.Vani U S, Convener of Tulu Sangha also presided over the programme. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Maneesha D., Convenor of Tulu Sangha.
