The Department of Zoology conducted a five-day online Zoology Quiz Competition for B.Sc. Zoology students of years I, II, and III from August 29, 2025, to September 02, 2025. The competition was coordinated by Mrs. Sushama C, Head of the Department of Zoology, and Mrs. Pushpanjali S, Assistant Professor in Zoology.
A total of 33 students participated actively in the quiz rounds. The quiz was conducted in five rounds through Google Forms, with each day covering a specific theme in Zoology. The rounds included multiple-choice questions aimed at evaluating students’ knowledge, comprehension, and analytical abilities.
The details of the rounds are as follows:
The quiz on Animal Diversity was on Day 1, conducted from 9 pm – 9.30 pm.
The Day 2 quiz was on Scientists and Contributions, conducted from 9 pm – 9.30 pm. It included a quiz on scientists and their contributions to the field of life sciences.
Day 3 was on Public Health and Infectious Disease, conducted from 9 pm – 9.30 pm.
The Day 4 quiz was conducted from 9 pm – 10 pm on Economic Zoology. Topics like dairy, poultry, apiculture, aquaculture, sericulture, and lac culture were included.
The Day 5 quiz was on Wildlife Biology and Conservation and was conducted from 9 pm 9.30 pm. It included the Wildlife of India and MCQs on conservation strategies.
The total duration of the competition across five days was three hours. Participants demonstrated proficiency in subject knowledge along with skills in quick recall, logical reasoning, and decision-making.
The winners of the competition are as follows:
- I Place was secured by Ms. Vaishnavi R. Pandit, III B.Sc.
- II Place was secured by Mr. Chetan Yellappa Hadagal, II B.Sc.
- III Place was secured by Ms. Varsha K. T., II B.Sc.
All participants received a Certificate of Appreciation, and the feedback collected from students indicated a high level of engagement and satisfaction. The programme served as an effective platform for students to enhance academic learning and develop a healthy competitive spirit.
