CELEBRATION OF INSTITUTION’S INNOVATION DAY

Canara College, Mangaluru celebrated the Institution’s Innovation Dayon October 15, 2025, with great enthusiasm, reaffirming its commitment to fostering creativity, entrepreneurship, and innovation among its students and faculty.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by the Convenor of the Institution Innovation Council (IIC), Mrs. Seema Prabhu S., Head, Department of Business Administration, who also highlighted the significance of the day and the need to cultivate an innovative mindset.

The Guest of Honour, Mr. Harsha Raj Gatty, Proprietor, Solmelu Corporate Gifting, Mangaluru, and Support Director Consultant and Trainer, BNI, delivered an inspiring keynote address on the benefits of entrepreneurship. He emphasized that entrepreneurship offers the opportunity to solve real-world problems, achieve financial independence, create employment opportunities, and contribute to economic development. He further underlined that entrepreneurial journeys build self-reliance, adaptability, and the ability to convert challenges into meaningful opportunities, making it a highly rewarding career path.

Dr. Premalatha V., Principal, delivered the presidential remarks, stressing the crucial role of innovation and entrepreneurship in driving societal advancement and personal development. She appreciated the efforts of the Institution Innovation Council in organizing the event and urged students and faculty to participate actively in innovative practices and entrepreneurial initiatives.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Deepti Nayak, Mrs. Babitha, Mrs. Prathima V. Baliga, and Mrs. Shailaja Kumary. The programme was skillfully compered by Ms. Aisiri Aithal, a second-year BBA student. A total of 108 BCA and BBA students benefitted from this enriching session.

The institution’s Innovation Day not only celebrated creativity and forward thinking but also ignited the entrepreneurial spirit among students. The keynote address motivated participants to think boldly, embrace challenges, and adopt an entrepreneurial mindset.
