The Centre for PG Studies in Commerce successfully conducted an Extension Activity titled “Ethics in Action: Little Citizens, Big Values”, an Ethical Awareness Programme for Higher Primary Students, on 16th December 2025 at DKZP Higher Primary School, Mannagudda, Mangaluru.
The programme was organized with the objective of instilling ethical values and moral awareness among young students at an early stage. A total of 11 Final M.Com students actively planned and conducted the programme as part of their extension activity initiative. The sessions focused on important ethical themes such as responsible buying behavior, ethical sourcing, honesty, morality and understanding the difference between right and wrong.
Various interactive and engaging activities were designed to suit the understanding level of higher primary students. These included discussions, role plays, simple real-life examples and activity-based learning methods, which helped the children easily relate ethical concepts to their daily lives. The activities encouraged students to think critically, participate actively, and express their ideas freely.
A total of 80 higher primary students enthusiastically participated in the programme and showed keen interest throughout the sessions.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Mrs. Swathi Nayak, PG Coordinator and coordinated by Mrs. Shwetha Pai M, Faculty, M.Com Department, who provided continuous support and guidance to the student volunteers, ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the programme.
Overall, the programme received very positive feedback from the student participants, who appreciated the fun-filled learning approach and the relevance of ethical values in their everyday life. The extension activity successfully achieved its objective of promoting ethical awareness and social responsibility among young learners while also providing valuable experiential learning to the M.Com students.
