BOTANICAL GARDEN MAINTENANCE DRIVE – SWACHHATA PAKHWADA 2025

As part of the Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 initiative, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Units of Canara College organized a Botanical Garden Maintenance Drive on September 15 and 16, 2025, from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. on both days. The drive aimed to improve and maintain the college botanical garden while instilling environmental responsibility among students. A total of 90 NSS volunteers enthusiastically participated in the activity under the supervision of NSS Programme Officers Mrs. Sushama C, Mrs. Smitha M, and Assistant NSS Programme Officer Mr. Karthik.
The activities carried out during the drive included the removal of weeds and dry leaves, cleaning of pathways and garden surroundings, and proper disposal of garden waste in designated areas.
This initiative enhanced the beauty and ecological health of the botanical garden while promoting environmental awareness and a sense of ownership among students.
The NSS volunteers were actively engaged in maintaining the botanical garden, making the drive a meaningful contribution to environmental preservation and student involvement in sustainability efforts.
