Field Visit to MSME

The Centre for PG Studies in Commerce organised an educational field visit to the MSME Development Institute, Mangalore on June 16, 2025 for the first year MCom students. This visit was undertaken as a part of the academic curriculum, recommended under the revised syllabus of Mangalore University for postgraduate commerce students. The curriculum emphasizes experiential learning and industry exposure to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

During the visit, Mrs. Sruthi G.K., Assistant Director (E.I.), provided valuable insights into various government schemes such as the PMEGP, Mudra, Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP), Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) and information about the ZED Certification. Mr. Sundara Sherigara M., Assistant Director, engaged the students with an inspiring session on entrepreneurial mindset and shared motivational guidance, emphasising the importance of psychological resilience in the journey of entrepreneurship.

The primary objective of this field visit was to expose students to real-world applications of MSME initiatives and encourage them to explore entrepreneurial opportunities. A total of 27 students participated in this visit. The visit was coordinated and facilitated by the faculty members of the Centre for PG Studies in Commerce, who ensured the smooth conduct and learning effectiveness of the field visit.
