The Centre for PG Studies in Commerce conducted an add-on course named ‘Tally Prime’ on September 25, 2024 at 1.30 p.m. at the computer lab of the college. PG Co-ordinator, Mrs. Swathi Nayak emphasized to the students about the growing demand for digital accounting skills in today’s competitive job market, particularly the ability to manage financial operations efficiently using tools like Tally Prime and discussed how mastering this software could help students handle GST, taxation, and business process automation, thus enhancing their employability. Concluding her remarks, the Co-ordinator wished all the students success in the course and encouraged them to take full advantage of this valuable learning opportunity. Mrs. Megha, faculty of M.Com Department resource person of the course, addressed the audience on the critical need for a strong foundation in basic accounting. She also emphasized that having a clear understanding of core accounting principles is essential for interpreting financial data, making informed business decisions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The course was designed to assist students in making full-fledged use of accounting tools. A total of 39 students participated in this programme.
The valedictory of the course was held on March 13, 2025 and Dr. Premalatha V., principal of the college, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In her inspiring address, she highlighted the importance of continuous learning and growth and emphasized that this course serves as a strong foundation, a steppingstone toward greater expertise by retaining the knowledge gained, building upon it, and striving for excellence in their respective fields. The valedictory ceremony of the Add-On Course on Tally Prime marked the successful culmination of a transformative program. The certificate of completion of the course was given to 39 students.
