UNION DAY CELEBRATIONS

The Union Day celebration at Canara College, Mangaluru, was a grand event organized by Can-Cabinet Student Welfare Council on March 16, 2024 at the college campus. The programme commenced with an assembly and flag hoisting by the Chief Guest, Dr. Sham Prasad Varija Raghu. Ms. Shravya and her team set a pious tone for the event with their invocation.

Giridhar Kamath, Secretary, World Konkani Centre, Special invitee, CHS Association, CA M. Jagannath Kamath, Correspondent Canara College, Sri K. Shivananda Shenoy, Manager, Canara College, Dr. Premalatha V., Principal, Canara College, Mrs. Anila, Principal, Canara Evening College, Dr. Kalpana Prabhu J., Staff Secretary, Student Welfare Mentors Mrs. Babitha S., Mrs. Smitha M. and Mr. Avinash and Can-Cabinet Student Welfare Council Office bearers.

Mr. Harshith, President of the Can-Cabinet Student Welfare Council, warmly welcomed the gathering. Mr. Brugu, Secretary of the Can-Cabinet Student Welfare Council, presented the annual report, highlighting the council’s achievements and activities. Ms. Sambhrama R., Joint-Secretary of the Can-Cabinet Student Welfare Council, introduced the esteemed chief guest. Dr. Sham Prasad Varija Raghu delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the importance of research and innovation in education. The chief guest and president of the day distributed prizes to meritorious students, acknowledging their hard work and dedication.

CA. Giridhar Kamath delivered the presidential address, motivating students to strive for excellence and contribute positively to society. Ms. Thejashree Shetty, Vice-President of the Can-Cabinet Student Welfare Council, expressed gratitude to all participants and contributors. The event concluded with a vibrant cultural programme, showcasing the diverse talents of the students. The programme was efficiently compered by Tushar, a final-year B.Com student. Under the guidance of the Student Welfare Mentors, the Union Day celebration was a grand success, achieving its objectives and leaving a lasting impact on all participants. 1200 students have participated in this grand event.
