In today’s world, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an integral part of our daily lives. However, while AI brings numerous advancements and conveniences, it raises ethical concerns, impacts employment, and influences decision-making processes. Recognizing the importance of understanding both the benefits and challenges of AI, the Science Association conducted an essay-writing competition on the topic “AI – Boon or Bane” organized on March 12, 2025.
This competition provided an opportunity for students to explore the impact of AI on various sectors, reflect on its ethical and social implications, and suggest innovative solutions for responsible AI development. Participants presented diverse perspectives, analyzing AI’s contributions to technology, healthcare, and automation while also discussing challenges such as job displacement, privacy concerns, and ethical dilemmas.
The competition was conducted for the members of the Science Association, with a total of 17 students participating. The Science Association convener and the student convener took responsibility for organizing and overseeing the event.
