The Anti Human Trafficking Cell of Canara College organized a seminar titled “Understanding Human Trafficking” on 17th May 2025 in Lecture Hall 14. The resource person for the session was Dr. Ashwini P., Assistant Professor at SDM Law College, Mangalore.
Dr. Ashwini delivered a compelling talk on the causes, patterns, and impact of human trafficking. The session covered real-life case studies, legal frameworks, and preventive measures, helping students understand the gravity and complexity of the issue. The seminar also emphasized the importance of youth involvement in spreading awareness and supporting victims.
Around 50 students from the second BCA A section attended the seminar. Staff conveners Dr. Ganesh Shetty and Mrs. Rakshitha Uchil were present and actively engaged in organizing and supporting the event.
