SWACHHATA JANASAMPARKA ABHIYANA – NSS AWARENESS CAMPAIGN ON WASTE SEGREGATION

The Red Ribbon Club and NSS of Canara College (Autonomous), Mangaluru jointly organized an awareness session on “HIV Awareness: Prevention, Care and Social Responsibility” on March 18, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Smt. Ratna S. Shenoy Memorial Seminar Hall.

The session was delivered by Ms. Ambika V. Rao, Counsellor at ART Centre, KMC, Mangaluru, who provided valuable insights into HIV transmission, prevention methods, treatment options, and the importance of early diagnosis. She also emphasized the role of individuals in reducing stigma and supporting people living with HIV.The session was highly informative and interactive, encouraging students to clarify doubts and actively engage in discussions. The speaker highlighted the need for awareness, safe practices, and compassionate attitudes towards affected individuals.

The programme was conducted in the presence of NSS Programme Officers Mrs. Sushama C. and Mrs. Smitha M., and Assistant NSS Programme Officers Mrs. Laxmi Hegde and Mr. Karthik, whose support ensured the smooth conduct of the event. A total of 64 volunteers participated and benefited from the session. This activity strived to contribute to national development, foster global competencies and human excellence, and inculcate a strong value system among volunteers.
