SWACHHATA HI SEVA CAMPAIGN – 2025

October 31, 2025

The Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2025, organized under the “Special Campaign 5.0 for Improving Swachhata”, was held from October 23 to October 31, 2025. A series of engaging competitions, awareness session and eco-friendly activities were conducted to actively involve NSS volunteers and students in promoting the spirit of cleanliness and sustainability. All events were conducted after 3:30 P.M.

The program commenced on October 23, 2025, with Poster Making and Elocution competitions. In the poster-making event, participants expressed their artistic vision on the topic “Earth Under Maintenance – Handle with Care”, showcasing creative and thought-provoking artwork. Simultaneously, the Elocution Competition encouraged students to articulate their ideas on “Youth’s Role for a Cleaner Tomorrow”, promoting awareness about the role of young people in building a cleaner future.

On October 24, 2025, the Face Painting Competition was held on the theme “Two Sides of Tomorrow.” Teams of two participants creatively depicted the contrast between a polluted and a clean world through face art, reflecting imagination and environmental consciousness.

The Debate Competition on October 25, 2025 provided a platform for students to present their arguments and opinions on a topic given on the spot, encouraging critical thinking, clarity of expression, and respect for differing viewpoints.

On October 27, 2025, an Awareness Session on E-Waste Management was conducted for NSS volunteers. The session was conducted by Mrs. Pushpanjali S. Assistant Professor in Zoology, Canara College. She educated the volunteers about the hazards of improper disposal of electronic waste and the importance of recycling and responsible e-waste handling. Following the session, volunteers actively collected e-waste materials from students’ homes. The collected items were safely deposited in the designated E-Waste Collection Bin placed within the campus as part of the Swachhata campaign. This initiative not only promoted environmental awareness but also encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly disposal practices.

On October 28, 2025, the campus came alive with the Mime Competition on the theme “The Ripple Effects of Cleanliness.” Teams of six participants performed powerful, dialogue-free acts highlighting how individual efforts toward cleanliness can inspire others and create a larger social impact.

The Wealth out of Waste Competition, held on October 29, 2025, promoted creativity and innovation. Teams of two participants created useful and decorative items from waste materials, with the requirement that at least one element of e-waste be included. The event inspired students to think about recycling, sustainability, and the potential of reusing discarded materials.

On October 30, 2025, two events were organized, a Quiz Competition and a Garden Cleaning Activity. The Quiz Competition tested students’ knowledge on cleanliness, environment, and social responsibility, encouraging healthy competition among teams. Simultaneously, NSS volunteers participated in a Garden Cleaning Activity within the college campus. Volunteers cleaned the college garden by removing litter, weeds, and dry leaves, and watered the plants. The activity aimed to maintain the campus greenery and promote the importance of cleanliness in maintaining a healthy environment. The teamwork and dedication of the volunteers reflected their strong commitment to environmental care and campus beautification.

On October 31, 2025, the campaign concluded with the Videography Competition and Green Pledge. The Videography Competition, themed “Ripple Effect of Cleanliness,” encouraged participants to produce one-minute original videos emphasizing how small acts of cleanliness can inspire broader change in society.

Finally, NSS volunteers and students took the Green Pledge, affirming their commitment to protect the environment, reduce waste, conserve resources, and maintain cleanliness in their surroundings. This symbolic act strengthened the spirit of environmental responsibility and unity among participants.

Each event was carefully designed to promote awareness, creativity, and teamwork. Judging criteria across all activities focused on creativity, relevance to the theme, presentation, and clarity of message.
