FIRST YEAR PARENT-TEACHER MEETING – 2025

The First Year Parent-Teacher Meeting of the College was held at T. V. Raman Pai Convention Centre, Mangaluru, at 3:00 P.M. on August 19, 2025. It brought together parents and teachers to discuss important updates and expectations for the academic year. The Chief Guest of the programme Dr. Madhava M. K., Associate Professor, University College, Mangaluru emphasized that self-independence is the best lesson parents can teach their children. He urged parents to instill a sense of responsibility in students, to be understanding and friendly with them, and to encourage a natural craving for learning rather than forcing it upon them.  

Mrs. Dejamma A., Principal In-charge, briefed the parents about the general rules and regulations of the college. She further highlighted the importance of parents maintaining constant contact with the institution for the holistic development of their wards. In his presidential address, CA M. Jagannath Kamath recalled the history and founding purpose of the college, stating that the vision continues to remain relevant. He also stressed that imparting the value of earning to students would help them grow into responsible individuals. Sri K. Shivananda Shenoy, Manager of Canara College and Dr. Deepti Nayak, Administrator, graced the occasion.

Mrs. Anasuya Bhagavath, IQAC Coordinator, introduced and welcomed the Chief Guest. Mrs. Dejamma A., Head, Department of Commerce along with Dr. Asha Kiran Pakkala, Head, Department of Physics, Mrs. Babitha Shetty, Head, Department of BCA, and Mrs. Seema Prabhu S., Head, Department of BBA, ensured the smooth conduct of PTA nominees. The parents have actively participated during the interaction. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Megha, IQAC Coordinator. Mrs. Vani U.S., Head, Department of Kannada served as the Master of Ceremony. Altogether, 315 parents and 50 teachers participated in the programme.

  • The programme successfully facilitated a deeper understanding of student progress and individual needs, strengthened the communication link between parents and faculty, and ensured that expectations were clearly conveyed.
  •  Concerns impacting student learning and behaviour were addressed collaboratively.
  • The session strived to achieve the core values of Contribution to National Development and Inculcating Value System, amongst others.
