Cleanliness Drive Program on Account of Gandhi Jayanti

Commemorating the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2nd, a Cleanliness Drive Program was organized at Mangalore Railway Station. This event served as a tribute to the values and principles advocated by the Father of the Nation, emphasizing the significance of cleanliness in our lives.

The program was scheduled to take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon, with active participation from various institutions and organizations. The joint efforts of the Mangaluru Central Railway Station and Bharat Scouts and Guides, Dakshina Kannada, played a key role in the successful execution of this initiative.

Bharat Scouts and Guides, Dakshina Kannada, extended an invitation to Canara College to depute volunteers for the cleaning drive. Responding to this call, Rovers and Rangers from Canara College eagerly participated in the program, displaying a commendable commitment to the cause of cleanliness and community service.

The volunteers engaged in a range of activities aimed at improving the cleanliness and hygiene levels of Mangalore Central Railway Station. Volunteers meticulously cleaned Railway station garden and waiting areas, ensuring that passengers and visitors would experience a clean and pleasant environment. Waste management was a crucial part of the drive. Volunteers efficiently segregated waste into recyclable and non-recyclable categories, contributing to a sustainable waste management system. This initiative aimed to enhance the aesthetics of the station area.
