The illustrious Kannada writer and critic, Rashtrakavi M. Govinda Pai, well remembered for his invaluable contribution towards the Unification of Karnataka, was one among the first researchers who studied in depth the language and culture of Tulunadu. He was a true nationalist who strived to bring unity among people and heralded the message of harmony through his writings. M. Govinda Pai’s translated poem ‘Baanakkige’, originally titled ‘To a Skylark,’ penned by P. B. Shelley, has been prescribed for the II Semester BSc Syllabus by Mangalore University.
With the objective of familiarizing the students with the writer’s other literary works and to inculcate in them the quest for knowledge, the students were motivated to invest their precious time in the library reading the books of Rashtrakavi M. Govinda Pai. The activity was conducted by the Kannada Association on April 04, 2023 in the College Library. 15 students benefitted from this activity.
