Awareness Programme on Electoral Literacy

India is a democratic republic with a federal structure of governance. The officials at federal, state and local levels are elected by way of a systematic, free and fair election process. The Election Commission of India is the nodal authority, established under the Constitution of India, responsible for conducting elections in India.

Keeping the objectives in the mind,  BBA student Mr.Danol Prajwal D’souza has given a talk on “Electoral Literacy” on the eve of Elections on April 04, 2018 to all the BBM/BBA students. He talked on necessity for voting, documents related to voting, procedure for voting, comparison between past and current method of voting. There was a good interaction between the presenter- Mr Danol and the students by way of raising questions and giving answers. Also, some videos related to elections were presented before the students in order to get the practical idea of voting. 80 students attended the programme.

 He encouraged the students to take part in the voting process. He spoke on Voters Rights, importance of voting, Electronic voting Machine & its importance. He also urged the students who attained the age of 18 years to take active part in ensuing parliamentary elections to form Good governance.  He shared the valuable information related to polling procedure.
