Extension Activity: An Interview with Agriculturist Mr Suresh Shetty, Hejamadi.

Extension programme is conducted to connect people or local residents through educative programmes by the students to promote community development as well as promotion of individual skills. Keeping in view this objective, 2 Students of II Year BBA Ms Disha Shetty and Ms.Poornima took a personal interview of an agriculturist Mr Suresh Shetty, Hejamadi, Mangaluru on April 2, 2018. While Interviewing they came to know that, he owned 18 acres of land, of which he uses 10 acres for agriculture and rest 8 acres for plantation purpose. He planted more than 300 trees of which many are giving a good amount of fruits. He uses tillers, he supplies cow milk to milk diary and shared the problems of labour, irrigation, etc with the students.  He was interviewed with a list of informative questions reflecting the multi-faceted role of an agriculturist emphasising on the contributions, emerging issues, challenges, opportunities, recent trends and developments. Questions focusing on sharing personal experiences which could be of learning tips for others too were asked.

The responses and feedback received by Mr.Suresh Shetty for each of the questions asked to him is really noteworthy. Thus, his experience in the form of feedback and responses shared is truly going to be beneficial for the concerned stakeholders
