Students exposure to real life industries is an important aspects of active learning. Students learning should go beyond academics, where they can develop insights, critical minds and obtain practical knowledge as well as theoretical applications. Furthermore, students are able to improve on the cognitive complexity and practical competence. In this view Department of chemistry organized an Industrial visit- 2017-18 for final B.Sc students on February 24, 2018. A batch of nearly 50 Chemistry students accompanied by three Lecturers undertook an Industrial Tour to the following Industries

1 .KMF Kulshekara : Karnataka milk federation is a company which produces Nandini milk and milk products. The students were exposed to the various methods of purification, packing and methods of production of various milk products

The monomer units used here was polyethylene terepthalate containing small amount of coloured units and filling materials.

4. Crystal mineral water company:This Company holds its name in manufacture of mineral waters. A very inquisitive process of molding of water bottles from tube like materials after exposure to UV light for removal of bacteria’s was liked by all the students. Students also learnt that application of pressure is the principle behind this molding. They were also shown the units of production of purified water.

5. Kalyani Polymers: Manufacture of plastic water bottles and varieties of oil containers takes place in this industry. Here students had the opportunity to look at how the hot raw material was picked up by the injection molded and within minutes containers were produced.
