Extension Activity: Reaching out to a social need of Sarasu Ajji, Peanut Seller

February 24, 2018

Social Activity helps to connect with others, create stronger communities and also helps to build a happier society for everyone. It’s not all about money – we can also give our time, ideas and energy. Students should also participate in various social activities along with curricular activities for the development of society and nation. This leads to personality development of students when they participate in social activities.

Keeping in mind this objective, 09 students of BBA conducted an extension activity where they helped an old lady named Sarasu Ajji in selling peanuts near Big Bazar, Attavar, Mangalore on February 24, 2018  . They thought of helping out that poor lady by selling her daily lot of pea nuts, they helped her in packing the nuts and did her 3 days’ business in one day and had food with her and rejoiced her. Many news channels have appreciated the students’ concern towards poor lady. Also they gifted a saree to her, as a token of love.

Disha shetty of II BBA along with her team co-ordinated the activity. Mrs Pushpalatha, Head of the Department, directed and coordinated in the smooth conduct of the same.
