Power Seminar (2018) on “Employability Skills for the Future” for the final year students by ICT Academy

The world of work is changing faster and more drastically than, at perhaps, any other time in recent history. According to research from the World Economic Forum, 35% of the skills necessary to thrive in a job today, will be different five years from now.  –  How can we prepare for a workplace of the future if we’re not quite sure what it will look like? What skills or expertise should students focus on acquiring today if they want to succeed tomorrow?

A power seminar on “Employability Skills for the future” was organised by Canara College in association with ICT academy on February 10, 2018 at Sudhindra Hall, Mangaluru.

The resource persons for the seminar were Mr. Ashok Technologist at Dell Research and Development, Bangalore and Mr. Praveen Kumar Kalbhavi – Co Founder, M.D. and CEO at Novigo Solutions Private Ltd. Mangaluru.

The resource persons explained the soft skills needed by the industry. They emphasized on 8 employability skills i.e. Interpersonal Skills, Communication Skills, Critical Thinking Skills, Personal Development, Presentation Skills, Leadership Skills, Numerical Skills, Digital Skills.

Principal Dr. K.V. Malini presided over the function. Prof. Seema Prabhu S., co ordinator of the seminar welcomed the guests. Student Vasudeva Prabhu compered the programme. Students Rachana and Pratheek rendered vote of thanks.  All the final year students actively participated in this power seminar.
