A Seminar on Thalamaddale

The Department of Kannada organized a seminar on Thalamaddale Art on February 03,2018 at College seminar Hall .A well-known Yakshagana Artist Mr. Jayananda Sampaje  was the resource person.

Speaking on the relevance of Thalamaddale he said, ”Thalamaddale is a unique form of art practiced in costal Karnataka. While yakshagana has speech, dance, costume and music, Thalamaddale has only the spoken world. Thalamaddale   artists should be well  versed  in mythology ,classical ,literature, philosophy and poetry. He should have a good command over language, possess considerable dramatic talent and be endowed with power oforatory and a strong voice. The artists should additionally have  analytical , interpretative abilities and attributes of logic and be good observers of human nature.”

In an interaction session he answered students questions and cleared all doubts about Thalamaddale  and as well as Yakshagana art. Mrs. Vani U.S, Head of the Department of Kannada and Mrs. Tharakumari were present at the programme.

Mr.Prajwal of II B.Com Introduced the resource person and welcomed .Mr. Harshith  Kumar extended the vote of thanks. 90 students benefited from this program.
