Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week-2017 and E-Pledge Taking

Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week is a multi-pronged approach to encourage all stakeholders to collectively participate in the prevention of and fight against corruption and to raise public awareness regarding the existence, causes and gravity of and the threat posed by corruption. Being mindful of this, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College observed Vigilance Awareness Week-2017 by evolving meaningful initiatives in this regard from October 30 to November 04, 2017 in the College.

As a part of this observance initiative, each day used to have a value-based message by the Principal through Public Address System on the theme of the week “My Vision – Corruption Free India”.

Further, a formal programme on the significance of the week was organized on November 02, 2017 at 12:15 PM in the College Seminar Hall. Mr. Prashanth Vashisth, Branch Manager, State Bank of India, Jail Road, Managluru was the Chief Guest. He in his address remarked that Corruption impedes the rate of economic growth, distorts competition, adversely impacts the rate of investments and undermines the moral fibre of the society. Therefore, in order to eliminate corruption there is a need for all stakeholders to work together to develop and implement effective anti-corruption mechanisms.

Principal Dr. K. V. Malini in her presidential address said that as responsible citizens of this great Nation, we all are duty bounded to develop a vision to make India a corruption free.Further, our participation and active involvement in promoting high integrity and eradicating corruption plays a crucial role.

IQAC Coordinator Mrs. Shanthi Roche administered the Integrity Pledge. Mrs. Seema Prabhu S., Faculty, Dept. of Commerce welcomed the guest and gathering. IQAC Coordinator Mrs. Premalatha V., proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. Sushma R. Shetty, Faculty, Dept. of Commerce compered the programme.

On a concluding day of the observance week, all the faculty members participated in this initiative by way of taking E-Pledge. The students were administered the Integrity Pledge in their respective classrooms through Public Address System.

The Vigilance Observance Week enabled to create a sensitization amongst the staff and students to imbibeand uphold the spirit of high ethical values, integrity and righteousness. The programme strived to achieve the core value of contributing to national development and inculcating value system.
