The Kannada Department conducted a guest lecture on ‘ BADATHANA,ABHIVRUDDI MADHYAMA’ on March 13,2017 at room no.29. Mr. Pramod Kumar P.S ,Lecturer,Department of English was the guest speaker. He spoke on P.Sainath’s a luminous piece of reporting which captures both the bleakness and the spirit of rural India in the 1990s.In his lecture he said, “The very fact illustrated in his book`Everybody Loves a Good Drought’(Bara andre Yellarigoo Ishta) is description of the poor of India with a pretty detailed version of the problems faced by them. The incidents of heroic acts by some officials , NGOs and the villagers themselves which have changed the lives of many people. The book lighten a ray of hope and motivates one to stand upfor the cause.” Mrs . Vani U.S Head of the Depatrment of Kannada ,Mrs. Thara Kumari were present at the programme. 6 students benefited from this programme.
