The programme organised by Human Rights cell in association with Kannada,English Association of the college. The Guest Speaker Rita Noronha, Retired Professor in School of Social work, Roshni Nilaya Mangaluru.She said, “Women are not able to enjoy equal standing in society as men. The grant of rights by the constitution does not any significant change in their position and respect in the society. The patriarchal society like India favours men and gives them higher authority and makes women vulnerable to crimes.Men are not open to changes hence, in just about every country,men commit suicide more frequently than women”. Thirty students took part in the programme.
