Gandhi Jayanthi Celebration-2018

The College celebrated 149th birth anniversary of the Legendary Leader, the epitome of Peace, a Great Soul, the Father of Our Nation Sri Mahatma Gandhi on October 02, 2018 at 9:00 AM in the College Campus.

IQAC Coordinator Dr. Premalatha V., sharing on the significance of the day said – “Gandhiji was one of the biggest contributors to India’s freedom movement and his methods for achieving it shaped the country greatly. As being rightfully regarded as the Father of this great Nation India, his legacy is honored, not only in India, but all over the world. Further, the greatest tribute we could give to our great Leader is by practicing non-violence, love every human alike with respect.”

Principal Dr. K. V. Malini in her Presidential address said – “Gandhiji’s ideas and are still relevant and we remember him through this day as a tribute to him. Further, he was an advocate of change and resistance, but also of harmony, peace, tolerance and cooperation. Gandhiji is remembered and will be ever for his contribution towards the Indian Freedom Struggle. It is very important to take a day to reflect on the life and lessons of one so great who shaped the destiny of this Nation and inspired the whole world.”

The Principal, faculty members and students present on the occasion offered floral tributes to the portrait of Sri Gandhiji and also kindled the lamp. Students too spoke on relevance of the day.

The celebrated ignited the spirit of Nationalism striving to spread the message of peace, simplicity, truthfulness, kindness and non-violence. It reaffirmed our commitment to embrace his ideas and philosophy which teaches us a lot about his morals and principles.
