The Centre for PG Studies in Computer Application (MCA) will be conducting a 200-hour certificate course titled “AI Literacy Initiative” for the Second-Year MCA and M.Com. students. The programme is being conducted in collaboration with Yaticorp India Pvt. Ltd., Mangaluru, with the objective of strengthening students’ analytical, technical, and industry-relevant skills.
The commencement and introductory session of the course was held on February 21, 2026, at 11.00 a.m. During the session, the resource persons Mr. Yathish and Ms. Kripa introduced the course structure, training methodology, evaluation methods, and expected learning outcomes. They highlighted the increasing importance of data analytics in today’s data-driven business environment, emphasizing how organizations utilize analytics to improve decision-making, innovation, and operational efficiency.
The program is designed to provide hands-on training in data analysis, data visualization tools, and business intelligence techniques along with exposure to real-world case studies. Through practical learning sessions with a few of the advanced AI tools such as Antigravity, students developed small projects of their choice within a short time by applying effective prompt engineering techniques.
Mrs. Shailaja Kumary T.G., Assistant Professor in MCA and Convener of the Training, Internship, and Placement Cell, welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Jayabharathi K.P., Head, Centre for PG Studies in Computer Application (MCA), explained the purpose of introducing this certificate course. Mr. Sharan Karanth, Assistant Professor in MCA proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. Premalatha V., Principal of the college, presided over the function. A total of 46 students of the Second year MCA and 5 faculty members participated during this session.
